Support Cultural Healing and Civic Engagement in Milwaukee
Bridging Cultural Healing and Civic Engagement
August - December 2024
Wakanda Wellness Week is a series of curated community experiences intentionally aimed at promoting awareness of the essential connection between cultural healing, civic engagement and health equity.
We are thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Wakanda Wellness Week, a groundbreaking call to action that will shine a spotlight on the intersection of health equity, civic engagement, and social change. Our 2024 theme, "Cultural Healing and Civic Engagement,” embraces the strength we all carry and the power of our voice to shape our destiny. With great inspiration drawn from the legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman who died from colorectal cancer, we are dedicated to fostering awareness, dialogue, and action surrounding crucial issues that affect our communities. We invite you to join us in making a profound impact on Milwaukee’s future!
Key Focus Areas:
Connection and Celebration: Wakanda Wellness Week presents a series of health promotion events aimed at strengthening and uniting our community through meaningful bold dialogue and honoring Black culture.
Voting for a Healthy Future: Through inspiring speakers and insightful discussions, we will encourage attendees to exercise their voting rights as a means to shape policies that impact healthcare access and health equity by connecting historical context to present day social and health outcomes.
Harnessing the Power of Cultural Healing: We dedicate ourselves to exploring the process by which individuals and communities can restore, revitalize, and maintain their cultural identity and wellbeing.
We invite the Community to join us in connecting historical context with contemporary issues through engaging discussions, impactful presentations, and enlightening conversations!
